An Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system has helped police stop and charge a driver from Southwest Middlesex on October 3rd. While patrolling on Appin Road, a Middlesex County OPP officer was alerted by the ALPR in their vehicle, leading to a traffic stop.
The investigation found that the 46-year-old driver from Melbourne had consumed alcohol. The driver was also charged with several violations, including not having a valid permit, failing to apply for a permit after becoming the vehicle’s owner, obstructing the licence plate, and driving without insurance.
