Community Futures Middlesex is proud to support Building Foundations, a unique initiative that brings together the expertise of the SMGH Foundation, the municipality’s dedication to community well-being, and Holy Cross CSS’s commitment to providing hands-on experience for its students. The success of Building Foundations goes beyond bricks and mortar; it’s about the transformative impact on both individuals and communities. Todd Copeland, General Manager of Community Futures Middlesex says they are very glad to hop on board with this project.
This initiative exemplifies what can be accomplished when multiple partners unite under a shared vision, addressing key government priorities such as expanding attainable housing, encouraging youth involvement in skilled trades, and boosting rural hospitals’ capacity to meet local healthcare needs.
Since breaking ground in April 2023, Building Foundations has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of its first two semi-detached homes. Built on lots generously donated by the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, these homes symbolize community growth and opportunity. Copeland says their support comes in many facets.
The proceeds from the sale of the homes will help support the SMGH Foundation’s mission to enhance healthcare services in Strathroy, specifically by funding diagnostic imaging equipment.
