Strathroy-Caradoc continues to be open for business and that was very evident Wednesday afternoon. After breaking ground September 2nd, 2023 the community’s newest industrial facility, Norbec hosted its ribbon cutting grand opening on Wednesday for guests including the municipality, and representation from the county, the province and the federal government in addition to it’s employees from the Strathroy plant and the company’s two plants in Quebec.
Housed on Wright Street in the Molnar Industrial Park, this facility brings with it an influx of $45 million, and with phase one has filled 70 local jobs for the facility that is larger than 3 football fields. President and CEO of Norbec Jan Lembregts says it’s a good time for Norbec.
Norbec builds insulated panels for walls and roofs and walk-in coolers and freezers, and Lembregts says Strathroy was simply a good fit for what they needed.
Deputy Mayor Mike McGuire was very impressed with what he saw at the facility.
McGuire told myFM there is no doubt that the municipality is indeed open for business.
So what is actually in this building? Other than a state of the art manufacturing building with an abundance of employee amenities, Lembregts says the art of production comes down to one line.
He added that Strathroy-Caradoc has been nothing but welcoming.
McGuire says this is a true example of partnerships coming together for a common goal.
