BREAKING NEWS – Strathroy-Caradoc police have confirmed with myFM that the individual who had barricaded himself in a downtown apartment since the early morning hours on Friday is now in custody and the downtown area is no open again. Police thank the public for their patience.
Original Story
In the early hours this morning, around 2:00 a.m., Strathroy-Caradoc Police responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Frank Street in Strathroy. The incident involved a verbal altercation between two individuals, which escalated to the point where police were called.
Upon arrival, officers learned that one individual had left the apartment, and the man remaining inside was in breach of his Release Conditions by being at that location. When police attempted to make contact with the man inside, he became uncooperative and barricaded himself in the residence. He then began throwing items out of a window onto the street, prompting officers to close Frank Street between Centre Street and Calendar Lane as a safety precaution.
The police remain on the scene, and Frank Street will stay closed until the situation is resolved. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service at 519-245-1250 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
