The annual Norwood Fair isn’t until the October Thanksgiving weekend but the selection of this year’s Fair Ambassador will be made this coming weekend.
On Sunday (August 11) at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre, the process to choose this year’s Fair Ambassador will begin at 2 p.m. with the speeches by five contenders for the title.
The event is open to the public but the doors will be locked while speeches are underway, so arrive before 2 p.m.
Vying for the crown are Chloe Shaw, Hannah Ahrens, Alyssa Morrison, Sara LeBlanc and Gwen Davidson.
During the fair, each will help with various duties, including the presenting of fair prize ribbons, while the Ambassador will represent the Norwood Fair at various events, including at the Toronto CNE’s Ambassador of the Fairs competition held later this month.
The theme of this year’s fair, being held October 12th to 14th, is Country Roads Take Me Home.
