
The Ontario Summer Games returned to London today(Thursday), and will run until Sunday. Over 3,500 participants will join the London 2024 Ontario Summer Games, including 2,500 athletes aged 12-18, many competing in their largest sporting event to date. The festivities kick(ed) off with the Opening Ceremony tonight (last night), culminating in a performance by JUNO Award winner Rêve. Throughout the weekend, 18 sports will be played at over 20 venues, mostly in London, with exceptions for Road Cycling (Melville United Church), Triathlon (St Mary’s Quarry), and Sailing (Port Stanley Sailing Club). Flag Football (Huron Flats) and Men’s Softball (Stronach Recreation Centre) are making their debut in the 51-year history of the Ontario Summer Games. This year marks the fourth time London has hosted the Games. Over 500 volunteers have stepped up to support the event, showcasing the community’s pride in hosting such a significant event.
