A deal to end the strike at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario was put in doubt just hours after it was made on Friday, as both sides blamed each other for not acting in good faith.
The union, representing 10,000 workers at the LCBO, said the strike would continue because the employer wouldn’t sign a return-to-work agreement.
The LCBO responded, saying it would file a complaint against the Ontario Public Service Employees Union for bringing up “significant new monetary demands” after the tentative deal was reached.
Before this sudden issue on Friday, the LCBO had announced that the deal would allow stores to reopen on Tuesday.
