Lacrosse Canada has announced its roster for the upcoming U20 Women’s World Championships in Hong Kong, and Peterborough native Alexis (Lexi) Jenkins is among the talented athletes selected to represent the nation. The standout midfielder is known for her exceptional speed, anticipation, and grit, making her a formidable two-way player.
The Crestwood Secondary School alumna, who just finished her freshman year at the University of Oregon, has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including MVP and Tournament All-Star at Top Prospects in 2020 and MVP in the bronze medal game at the Nationals in 2018. Jenkins also won the 2022 U18 National Field Lacrosse Championship as a member of Team Ontario and captained the team that same year at the Brogden Cup.
The Canadian U20 team, currently ranked second in the world, is led by head coach Allison Daley, who also hails from Peterborough. Daley expressed immense pride in the athletes selected for the roster, highlighting their dedication and potential as ambassadors for the sport.

The World Lacrosse 2024 Women’s U20 Championship will take place from August 15-24 in Hong Kong, China, with Canada set to compete in Group B alongside Haudenosaunee, Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Wales.
As the team prepares for this prestigious event, the selection of Lexi Jenkins marks another significant achievement for Peterborough, showcasing the city’s strong lacrosse tradition and the bright future ahead for its athletes.
