Established in 2000, the Middlesex County Agricultural Hall of Fame pays homage to the rich agricultural heritage of Middlesex County. Its primary mission is to honor individuals who have made selfless contributions to agriculture and rural communities in Middlesex County and beyond. This year, we celebrate our twenty-second induction ceremony, having recognized over ninety outstanding individuals thus far. The 2024 nominees are James (Jim) Duffin, William (Bill) Galbraith, and Robert (Bob) McCubbin. They will be commemorated on Sunday, June 2nd, at the Agriplex Lobby of the Western Fair District.
James Duffin (1934-2021) hailed from London, Ontario, dedicating his life to the Thorndale area. A graduate of the Ontario Agricultural College in 1955, he contributed significantly to his community, serving on various local boards and organizations.
William Galbraith (born in 1937) embarked on his agricultural journey after graduating from Ridgetown College in 1955. He played pivotal roles in the Middlesex Junior Farmers and excelled in farming, community involvement, and local governance.
Robert McCubbin (1902-1975), born in East Williams, delved into politics early in life. His tenure as a council member and Member of Parliament for Middlesex West riding reflects his deep commitment to community and public service. Reeve 1927-1930
