On Saturday, the Rotary Club of Strathroy took advantage of breaks between storms to donate and plant 21 new trees at Alexandra Park. The effort was a community collaboration aimed at enhancing the park’s natural beauty and sustainability.
The trees, which included Red Oaks, Red Maples, White Oaks, and Tulip Trees, were strategically placed around the park under the guidance of Darren Dowding, Supervisor of Parks & Recreation Facilities. These species, native to the area, will help reduce erosion and ensure the park remains forested for generations.
Firefield Landscape generously delivered the trees in the rain and provided wood poles and rope to stake them in place.
The Rotary Club’s initiative not only beautifies Alexandra Park but also contributes to environmental conservation efforts in the community.
