The Ontario government is taking a new approach to clamp down on the amount of paperwork doctors have to do.
Among the changes as part of legislation introduced, employees will no longer be required to get sick notes if using part or all of their three days of provincially-mandated annual sick leave.
Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith says employees will no longer be required to get sick notes if using part or all of their three days of provincially-mandated annual sick leave.
In his opinion, the whole concept needed to be re-thought.
Smith says this change just makes sense.
The province is also expanding an innovative program that safely uses artificial intelligence to automatically transcribe conversations with patients who consent into electronic medical notes.
