At St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary School, each year, students can participate in the Social Justice Leadership Team. Led by Mrs. Clare Kustermans and Ms. Maria Minten Taylor, the team organizes events to raise funds and awareness for societal needs, both locally and globally. On Thursday, Save A Family Plan Executive Director Marisa Thorburn visited the school to thank the staff and students for their hard work and amazing fundraising efforts to support children in India.
Minten Taylor says the fundraising goals were blown out of the water by the school.
They ended up with enough funds to send 20 children to school and buy 16 water filters for families.
