This week at Strathroy-Caradoc Council, they approved a $3,300,000 allocation for the Queen Street Phase 2 Road Reconstruction Project within the Municipality’s 2025 capital budget. This phase extends the work initiated in the completed project of 2023, which spanned from Carroll Street East to English Street.
Similar to Phase 1, Phase 2 entails comprehensive updates, encompassing new sanitary sewer, watermain, storm sewer, sidewalk, curb and gutter installations, along with asphalt and necessary restoration. Initially slated as a one-year endeavor, recent final design drawings received by the Municipality on April 15, 2024, have determined a need for multi-year completion. Consequently, an updated project budget of $11,300,000 has been provided.
With $8,000,000 already earmarked in the 2024 capital budget, Council has now approved an additional $3,300,000 allocation for the project in the Municipality’s 2025 capital budget.
