Get ready for this years Home, Garden a Leisure Show at the Gemini Sportsplex, on May 25th, hosted by 105.7 myFM and presented by Sutton Wolf Realty! Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre is holding their Second Annual Bottle Drive Fundraiser! They will be collecting empties (beer and liquor, bottles and cans) from March 1st until April 30th. At the Middlesex County Library in Komoka there will be a Free drop-in program for families with children 0-6 years old from 9am-11am today. Each Play & Learn program will offer a play-based learning opportunity in one of the indoor library program spaces. Activities planned by EarlyON facilitators encourage positive parent and child interaction and inspire play and learning!

Get ready for Zumbini at the Glencoe library at 9:15am. Zumbini uses music and movement to support child development for children ages 0-4 years. This is a 6-week program. For Middlesex County residents only. Created by Zumba and BabyFirst, Zumbini is an early childhood education program that uses original music and movement to promote cognitive, social, fine/gross motor skill, and emotional development for children ages O to 4 years, all while creating the ultimate bonding experience for families. For Middlesex County residents only. No cost to participate.

Tonight, Museum Strathroy-Caradoc presents Guest Speaker: Norm Christie. Christie is in town and we are very excited to be hosting him for a special talk! Not only that, but we will have members in uniform from the Canadian Great War Society for a special display during the event. Christie is an author and historian, who has written twenty-four books on the roles played by Canadians in the First and Second World Wars, including the 10 volume For King & Empire series and the 3 volume series Sacred Places.

Parkhill, Strathroy, Glencoe and Melbourne Storytime is set to go today from 10:30am- 11am at their respective libraries. Join staff for stories, songs, rhymes and fun! All are welcome.

At the Ailsa Craig library today, there will be a Crafters’ Corner from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. Join together for time to socialize and create. Bring in that craft or art project you’ve been working on and see how much fun it can be to work as a group!

There will be a Meditation Club meeting today at the Komoka Library starting at 6:30pm. Studies show that the effects of meditation while in a group more powerful than meditating alone. Strengthen your existing practice with like minded individuals. Session will start with open group discussion about general meditation experiences, followed by a guided group meditation. Format of meditation will vary each week. Recommended for people with some previous meditation experience.

Today, Legion Catch The Ace is set to go at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 116, in Strathroy from 4:30pm- 7:30pm.

Friday Night Suppers is set to go at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 116, Metcalfe Street West, Strathroy, from 5pm-7pm today.

The Lego Club is set to meet at the Strathroy Library starting at 10am tomorrow. Drop in every Saturday for a new Lego challenge! All ages are welcome.

Come Get Spicy is set to go at the Komoka Library tomorrow at 10:30am. Pick up their Monthly Spice Club Takeaway Kits featuring spice and herbs from all over the world with history and recipes included. Then join to chat and sample potluck items with the spice.

Get ready for Wii Saturday starting at 11am at the Parkhill Library. Drop in for some retro-Wii games at the Parkhill Library every Saturday!

Starting at 11am tomorrow at the Alisa Craig library is Retro Saturday. Join Saturdays for a relaxing, family-friendly classic movie screening! You can bring your comfy cushion while you munch on provided popcorn.

Adopt a Plant starting Noon at Komoka Library tomorrow. Come donate a perennial or adopt one. Bring a bag filled with plants or an empty one to collect plants. Or both!

Get ready for Farmers Night Out at the Ilderton Community Centre. Join the 3rd annual Farmers Night Out! organized by the Middlesex Junior Farmers. There will be silent and live auction items, music by Adam Cousins and a cash bar. Tickets are only $15 and all funds raised will be going to the London Regional Cancer Centre.

In local Sports:

Strathroy Rockets Spring Camp will take place on Saturday May 4th and Sunday May 5th at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre. Personal invitations have been going out but if you feel you have what it takes to play with them next year …. fill out a Prospect Form on their website and someone from their Hockey Department will reach out to you as spots are filling up quickly!
