Tonight, the Strathroy and District Minor Hockey Association will be honouring three minor alumni players who were drafted to the NHL since 2016 by unveiling their banners from the rafters at the Gemini Sportsplex. Minor Hockey President Warren Woodiwiss says it will be a special night.
Woodiwiss says tonight, they will honour Noah Carroll who was drafted in 2016 in the 6th round by the Carolina Hurricanes, Hunter Haight, who was taken in the second round in 2022 by the Minnesota Wild, and Easton Cowan, drafted this past year in the first round to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Woodiwiss says it looks like Easton Cowan will be the only player able to make it tonight and he will be visiting with fans.
The ceremony will take place between the U-15 and U-18 games on the Blue Pad at Gemini approximately around 9pm.
