For over 30 years, Community Living London and Night of Heroes has honoured remarkable individuals and organizations in London and surrounding areas for their positive impact on our community. This special evening celebrates the heroic efforts of people with developmental disabilities, walking the runway alongside their community heroes.
This year, a few local names are being recognized for their heroic efforts in the community.
Mount Brydges resident Christy Bruinink is being recognized for all she has done to honour her late husband, Fire Captain Chris Bruinink, who passed away late last year from Cancer.
Kevin Kingma from Mount Brydges and Strathroy’s Nolan Hankinson, are also two local names who will take part in the event. These two are being honoured because of their “hearts of gold”. After Kingma reached out to media to share his interaction with the Strathroy Walmart greeter, Hankinson gained lots of attention online because of his happy and heartwarming personality, along with a smile that never leaves his face.
Night of Heroes is a memorable experience centered around people. It continues to grow, with funds supporting various programs and services, including accommodations, employment, person-centered planning, and respite services.
