Groundbreaking coming up in mid-February on the brand new Strathroy Station 1 Fire Hall. Aligned with the Municipality’s 2021 Fire Master Plan, the pre-existing fire station, Station 1, in Strathroy, was earmarked for replacement due to its aging infrastructure, and the location set for the current station’s location at 23 Zimmerman Street.
Throughout the construction phase of the new station, the existing Station 1 will remain operational to ensure uninterrupted services by the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department. With collaboration between the Municipality and a+Link Architects, the design of the new Station 1 complies with or exceeds all provincial health and safety standards. The design will incorporate a drive-through access for the Fire Department from East Centre Street to Metcalfe Street. This means the permanent closure of Zimmerman Street, which will take effect in mid-February.
The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is eager to embark on this project and invites the public to stay informed about the progress by visiting Strathroy Fire Station Reconstruction Project – Strathroy-Caradoc.
