What was good in 1976 remains good in 2024 in the form of Snofest, Peterborough’s annual celebration of all things winter.
Set for February 16th to 19th, the activity-filled weekend features a number of events for families and people of all ages to to enjoy, all of which are free and require no registration.
Peterborough recreation services program coordinator Ellen Stewart says while the format has changed over the years, the premise remains the same.
Stewart says while snow helps put everyone in the spirit, the event isn’t dependent on the white stuff with many indoor activities on the schedule. The result, she says, is an inclusive celebration that has community engagement top of mind.
While the City coordinates Snofest, Stewart says partnerships are vital to its continued success.
