Housing and how the federal government can help get more shovels in the ground was a main topic of discussion during a visit to Peterborough by Minister Anita Anand.
The President of the Treasury Board was at Market Hall on Friday, taking part in two events including a question and answer period with members of the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce.
Mayor Jeff Leal says this was an important opportunity to give a federal minister a glimpse into some of the issues facing the city.
Mayor of Douro-Dummer Township Heather Watson says she appreciated the conversation.
Anand also was on a guest panel discussion on achievements and challenges facing women in today’s Canadian workforce alongside former Peterborough-Kawartha MP and Founder and CEO of Onward Maryam Monsef and CEO of Palette Skills Rhonda Barnet.
