Traffic signals or lights are on the way to a County intersection that has been on the minds of motorists for many years. At this week’s Middlesex County Council a report of area intersections was submitted by County Engineer Chris Traini. Each fall several intersections are investigated to determine if the installation of new traffic signals is warranted. This year 5 intersections were reviewed but one in particular was not until Strathroy-Caradoc Mayor Colin Grantham made a motion.
So with that said, being included into the 2024 Capital budget for the county will be traffic signals now at the intersection of Glendon Drive and Melbourne Road, along with the intersections of Elginfield Road and Denfield Road, Longwoods Road and Carriage Road, and Dundas Street and Nissouri Road. Also capital improvements will be made to the intersection of Longwoods Road and Melbourne Road.
