An online auction has been launched in order to raise some much needed funds for London Search and Rescue.
They’re Southwestern Ontario’s only ground search team for missing persons and are 100% volunteer run. And as they face an increase in missing person calls, LSAR is reaching out to the communities in which they serve, as they receive zero government funding.
The online auction — located at www.32auctions.com/LSAR2023 — is the team’s largest fundraiser of the year and has received hundreds of donations from of London and area businesses. It features everything from restaurant gift certificates and jewelry to attractions and events in London, Toronto, and Ottawa.
The London Search and Rescue team are trained professional volunteers that assist all police forces within 150 km of London, ON in the search for missing persons. This incudes Strathroy-Caradoc Police and OPP.
