Strathroy-Caradoc police are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic collision that resulted in the loss of an 18-year-old’s life early on a Saturday morning. The police received a distress call at 5:55 am.
Emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Christina Road and Adelaide Road in Mount Brydges, where a two-vehicle collision occurred at a sharp curve in the road. Upon their arrival, both vehicles were engulfed in flames.
Regrettably, both vehicles were consumed by the fire, according to the police. Fortunately, the other driver, a nurse en route to her shift at the London Health Sciences Centre, managed to escape her vehicle and was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. The 18-year-old victim was also on their way to work, heading to Tim Hortons in Strathroy.
The initial 9-1-1 call came in through i-phone crash alert opening a line to the dispatch centre.
