Impaired driver hits playground. On Thursday of last week, Strathroy-Caradoc Police received a report of a single motor vehicle collision at Caradoc North Public School on Scotchmere Drive. The driver ran through a stop sign leading to a loss of control and colliding with the playground equipment on the school grounds. Both the playground equipment and the vehicle sustained significant damage. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene, fortunately leaving no one injured. Police found the damaged vehicle at the intersection of Scotchmere Drive and McEvoy Road. The accused driver, a 32-year-old man from London was arrested and charged, and information gathered during the investigation suggested that the driver had just departed from a local establishment after consuming a substantial amount of alcohol.
