Sometimes being dealt lemons isn’t a bad thing…at least not in Loretta Cameron’s world.
On Saturday (August 19th), the six-year-old opened Loretta’s Lemonade Stand for business at Stenson Family Market on Brealey Drive, raising money for The Mount Community Centre.
This is the second year Loretta has held the fundraiser, and a total of $410 was brought in.
Loretta’s grandmother Sue Gauthier, whose husband Mike manages the market, is very proud of her granddaughter. She says besides raising money, Loretta is setting a great example for other young people.
Loretta, who is also a junior firefighter in Napanee where her grandfather is a volunteer, says her motivation for hosting her lemonade stand is simple.
Gauthier says Loretta’s kindness is simply part of her nature.
