Quebec’s Norbec is investing $45 million in a new plant at 990 Wright St, in Strathroy.
The new plant is set to manufacture insulated metal panels and walk-in coolers.
The 23,225-square-meter facility will bolster production to meet the increasing demand for the panels used in commercial and industrial buildings.
Norbec’s president, Jan Lembregts, emphasized the plant’s high automation and advanced features, targeting the Ontario and U.S. markets.
The panels offer insulation, durability, energy efficiency, and quick installation, appealing to construction companies facing labor shortages.
Construction has commenced, with a scheduled opening in summer 2024, creating 70 jobs focusing on technical automation and engineering skills.
Strathroy-Caradoc Mayor Colin Grantham welcomed the development, foreseeing economic growth in Southwestern Ontario.
