As most of us know, the May 2-4 Long weekend is the unofficial kick off to summer. As residents get set to celebrate in a number of different ways, the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department is sending out a few much needed reminders. Chief Fire Prevention Officer Don McLean has a few tips for the cottage goers.
He adds that same goes for CO alarms, and with nicer weather upon us, McLean also reminds residents to clean out and service all BBQ’s before use.
Chief McLean notes that while fireworks are permitted to be set off in the municipality, some important by-law rules must be followed.
The current by-law states that fireworks can only be set off 2 days out of the year, on Victoria Day and Canada Day.
