Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department was called to a structure fire at Caradoc Sands Golf Course Tuesday just after 1pm, where a maintenance shop caught on fire housing fertilizers, and chemicals used for the maintenance of the course along with propane, oxy acetylene tanks as well as multiple mowers and tractors and fuels used at the golf course.
Explosions were and had been taking place during the fire response. The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office will not be investigating but Strathroy-Caradoc’s Fire Prevention is continuing with the investigation to determine origin and cause of this fire.
All three Strathroy-Caradoc stations along with two tankers from Adelaide Metcalfe responded to the blaze which is estimated at this point to have caused about $1,000,000 in damage, with no injuries to either civilians or first responders.
