This week the War Amps began their annual key tag mailing campaign in Strathroy, and the surrounding area. The War Amps began the Key Tag Service in 1946 as a way to provide equitable pay to war amputee veterans, and to provide a service to Canadians to fund a variety of programs. The service continues to employ people with disabilities and amputees, and is a resounding success, with over 1.5 million sets of keys having been reunited with their respective owners. Each tag has a unique code on it, and can be returned to their home by being dropped in any mail box in Canada, or calling a toll free number. They are then returned free of charge via a courier service. For more information, or to get your own set of key tags you can visit WarAmps.ca
