This Saturday and Sunday, Canadian Army Reserve personnel will be doing winter training in Lobo in the municipality of Middlesex Centre.
Training will include patrolling, land navigation, construction of shelters, small survival fires and just over all survival in the cold.
The exercises will take place in residential areas and will be in cooperation with local authorities.
Activities will start at 7am Saturday and go until 3pm on Sunday. You may see military vehicles and personnel with UNLOADED weapons. There will be NO LIVE ammunition at any times.
This important exercise is being conducted in order to prepare Canadian Army Reserve members to operate and survive in cold weather conditions.
All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those in the area, although certain areas may be inaccessible during the exercise dates. Members of the public are asked to take extra caution when approaching military vehicles and are thanked in advance for their understanding and co-operation.
