On January 11th, members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police service and members of the Middlesex County OPP got a call for a possible impaired driver on Isaiah Drive in Chippewas of the Thames First nation. The vehicle was found at an address on Middlemiss Drive in Munsee-Delaware First Nation and the driver was taken into custody. The vehicle was reported stolen from London and a 24-year-old from Munsee-Delaware First Nation was charged with drinking and driving, a high blood alcohol content and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.
The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
