A local long time curler has found himself travelling thousands of miles to play for a National Championship just 20 minutes away. Strathroy’s Jake Higgs, a long time curler will be heading to the Brier, the Canadian Men’s Curling Championships in March in London but will be part of a team from Nunavut because every territory and province is allowed one import player which Higgs has been for the last few years. He says being able to play in an event like The Brier so close to home is amazing.
The Canadian Men’s Curling Championship is set for March 3rd-12th at Budweiser Gardens in London.
