This week until the 19th, during YMCA Peace Week, YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, and YMCAs across Canada, are celebrating the presence of peace in communities, and reflecting on the peace-building work that happens all year both inside and outside the YMCA. One of three YMCA Peace medals goes to Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre with locations in The Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Reserve, London, Newbury, Windsor & more. It focuses on the restoration and rebalancing of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Indigenous people, families, and communities across our region. Other medals went to 519Pursuit in London and Alex Leonard also from London.
