Fire crews were busy Monday afternoon as just before 3pm, OPP and the Middlesex Centre Fire department were dispatched to Highway 402 westbound at Glendon Drive for the report of a vehicle on fire. The driver of the vehicle experienced mechanical failure and safely steered the vehicle off the roadway, at which time the vehicle began to smoke and eventually caught fire. Traffic in the area slowed while emergency crews were on scene. The vehicle was removed and there were no injuries.
