Today is Hidden Gems Feature day here on myFM. Right now we are featuring the Strathroy Conservation Area. Donna Blue, Manager of Communications at the Conservation Authority says the land was acquired to help preserve the area and offer recreation activities to residents.
Blue also says plenty of upgrades have happened to the area, and will continue to happen.
There is 3 kms worth of trails that consists of boardwalks and stone dust trails and go through a mature hardwood forest and you can even find remains of a White Pine Plantation.
The area is open year round, but the trails are not maintained in the winter. You can access the trails by the administration building on Pond Mill Crescent in Strathroy or by the parking lot that is off of Head Street.
