Fire crews responded to a field fire late last week on Switzer road. Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Chief Brent Smith says all 3 stations were involved from around 3:20pm until 6:35pm on Thursday. Smith says this was an area of about an acre and involved larger trees, bush and dried vegetation. The fire was stubborn because of the larger diameter wood burning. In the end it was stopped but not before around 64,000 liters of water was used and the slugging of lines a considerable distance to get to the area.
