The rise in Middlesex-London COVID numbers that’s been the norm the last few weeks continued Tuesday as the health unit reported a one day total of 71 new cases and zero new deaths. Strathroy-Caradoc added 5 more cases and now has been confirmed for 15 news cases over the last 4 days. Another 30 cases were added to the region’s active case count now sitting at 475 with Strathroy-Caradoc having 27 current active cases, with one more being added to the total at Strathroy’s Community Christian School rising from 3 cases to 4. On Monday, Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Alex Summers said all cases are now being assumed to be Omicron which means that all close contacts, regardless of vaccination status will be required to quarantine for 10 days after last exposure and they will also be asked to get tested on or after the seventh day in order to exit quarantine.
