As of January 1st, Dan Parker will be the new Fire Chief for Adelaide Metcalfe. He has served 30 years in the fire service and the last 12 years as Deputy Fire Chief. Parker says one of the first things he wants to accomplish is to make the rounds around the Township checking for smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms, as Ontario announced recently, that between December 1st and December 6th there were 8 fire related deaths, something he says he’s hoping to prevent. As for moving into the Fire Chief’s role, Parker says it’s a privilege.
The incoming Fire Chief took a moment to thank the outgoing Fire Chief Arend Noordhof for everything he has done in his 40 years of service.
Parker will officially start the role on January 1st as Noordhof wraps up his storied career December 31st.
