Strathroy-Caradoc Police continue to communicate the severity of Fentanyl and wanted to send out another important public warning regarding the deadly drug. Since an original warning in February, there have been more recent suspected Fentanyl-related overdoses and deaths in our community. Police are reiterating that Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid drug that is approximately 100 times more potent than other opioids. It is often added to other illicit street drugs such as fake pills and white powder and causes overdoses by slow breathing and eventually causing death. It is most commonly seen in a powdered rock form that can be different colours such as blue, purple, green, yellow or other pale colours. It can also be in the form of counterfeit pills.
More on Fentanyl prevention and safety can be found on our website.
WEB ONLY
