It’s Women of Influence Day here on myFM brought to you by NAMCOR Custom Laser Services. Sue Looman is a local business owner, who has accomplished a lot in her many years running her own business. Working with her husband, the two own many properties and are constantly taking on new projects. Sue and her husband recently bought the Kenwick Mall, with the goal of bringing the mall back to its glory days, and having it back as a key spot in town. Sue says that for her, some challenges she’s had, has been needing to wear many hats, from being IT support to dealing with the finances she’s had to be able to learn how to do it all.
Another challenge she says, is the time commitment to bigger projects.
She says that her advice for those who are looking to start their own business is to learn as much as you can, and be ready for the hard work.
A business owner, and a mother, Sue can do it all. She says that she is proud of everything her and her husband have been able to do as business partners.
Another thing Sue is proud of, on the personal side, is how they have raised their kids.
Sue doesn’t think of herself as any different than any other women in the community who runs their own business. Those women, to Sue, are all women of influence.
