After almost 6 years, an arrest has been made in the Strathroy case of the death of a 15-month old child. On Wednesday, Strathroy-Caradoc Police and OPP arrested a Strathroy resident following the joint investigation into 15-month old Nathaniel McLellan’s death on October 31st, 2015 in a London hospital. 42-year-old Meggin Van Hoof of Strathroy has been charged with Manslaughter, under Section 236(b) of the Criminal Code. Van Hoof was held in custody for a scheduled court appearance Wednesday in London. Anyone with information regarding this investigation should contact the OPP. The investigation was completed by members of the Strathroy-Caradoc Police, Middlesex OPP Crime Unit, OPP West Region Criminal Operations and OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in cooperation with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
