Strathroy-Caradoc staff continue to charge towards the April 1st target date of having the public transit system up and running three daily round trips to Sarnia and London with stops in town and Mount Brydges.
Councilor Frank Kennes feels they will hit that target date, but nobody expects smooth sailing from the get go.
Discussed Monday was where the pick up locations should be in Strathroy and Mount Brydges. Council agreed for the latter spot to be”As close as possible to the intersection of Adelaide Road and Glendon Drive.”
As for the former, two recommendations were presented: on Front Street East between Caradoc and Head Street, or in front of the Strathroy Cenotaph between Town Hall and the library.
The first didn’t get too far off the ground in terms of discussion outside of legalities, while the horseshoe expressed concerns with the second as they learned the stop would likely come at the cost of 2-3 parking spaces in the downtown core, which already has limited parking available.
In the end, council agreed to further explore their options.
