The Ontario government is making another investment in rural communities, including substantial funding for roads, bridges and water infrastructure in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. Recently MPP Monte McNaughton announced the new funding outlining more than $11 million for 14 municipalities to address their local community infrastructure needs. One of these municipalities is the Township of Warwick set to receive $282,258 and CAO Amanda Gubbels says they knew this was coming down the road.
This funding is part of Ontario’s approximately $200 million commitment to 424 communities addressing their core infrastructure projects and asset management planning needs in 2020. Recognizing that municipalities have different infrastructure needs, the province uses a transparent formula that examines various social and economic factors to determine funding allocations across the province.
