Kyle Vaughan (Head Coach Strathroy Lacrosse)
Kyle Vaughan is a head coach with the Bantam Rep Strathroy Screaming Eagles, a lacrosse team and association that’s brand new, beginning in 2019. He came across an ad asking for coaches last year for the new league and figured it was something he could do to get back into the sport that he spent time as a player in Wingham. He said the team seemed to enjoy the first year, especially around provincials in Whitby. His time as a coach made him cross paths with new people around town and enhanced his public speaking abilities, he noted. As for the parents, they were very helpful and Vaughan had lots of volunteers, but the association is always looking for more. Vaughan says figuring out how to run a practice was an early obstacle he had to overcome. He gained more respect for the coaches he had growing up through this experience.
