Some local athletes dawned the maple leaf and represented Canada across the pond during the 2019 World Martial Arts Organization Championships. The Dojo in Strathroy owner Jerry Pilon joined a pair of his students in participating in various martial art events, he told myFM.
Canada’s 15 competitors brought home a total of 65 medals in Blackpool, England. Pilon claimed a gold and two silvers, while his students Brant Morningstar of Watford walked away with 2 silvers and 2 bronze whole Jaylee Nowlan of St. Thomas secured 4 golds, 3 silvers, and 2 bronze.
