The Huron Shores Transit Committee continues its march towards public transit in the area connecting rural communities along Highway 21 and Grand Bend, Forest, and Bayfield. Co-chair Glen Baillee says it’s been a long process but traction continues to grow.
Baillee called the process “a grind,” because of the multi levels of government they’ve been having to work with a number of municipalities and the province. The next steps is to have the consultant present their report from the focus groups to Lambton Shores council, which is expected to be at a November meeting. If they like the proposed routes and service concept for the area, Baillee said the service itself has to be up and running by March 2020, but it’s ultimately council’s decision to either move forward on the project or not.
