POLICE CHIEF DELIVERS STRONG MESSAGE TO COMMUNITY FROM THIS WEEK'S SHOOTING RUMOUR
11/2/2018 7:26:06 AM

The recent Strathroy-Caradoc Police investigation into a rumoured school shooting at SDCI was not without a barrage of social media questions and comments and assumptions. Police Chief Mark Campbell says this isn't the answer, we are a better community than this.

Campbell says how society sees people especially the student involved in this week's rumour is a huge issue.

Chief Campbell says we need to be aware of the influence of social media.

Chief Campbell adds we live in a society where people are exposed to social media and there's no check and balance on the information on what information people post or share on it. He says if you have concerns or questions call Police, they are open 24-7, and he encourages people to not post things that are wrong and raise the temperature of the community.
