North Middlesex can expect a few changes to their local council this year.

Current Mayor Don Shipway is stepping down. The race is now between Deputy Mayor Brian Ropp and Brad Harness to fill his seat.

For Deputy Mayor, Councilor Adrian Cornelissen is looking to move up the ladder to become Deputy Mayor. He is running against Cheryl Norman and Ian Brebner

There is a hot race in Ward 1 in North Middlesex. Incumbent Doreen McLinchey is up against Jim Scott, Douglas Van Dyk, and Beverly Timmers

There is also a race in Ward 4 to fill the seat that Councilor Andy Hemming will vacate. Nichole Windsor, John Keogh and Troy Stewart are all looking to fill that spot

There is no election in Ward 2, 3 and 5. They have all be acclaimed by Joan Nichol, Gord Moir and Andrew Hemming respectively.

1 candidate is to be elected to each ward, and all residents vote for a Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Online and telephone voting opens at 9:00 am on October 15th.
