TSB FINDS TRAIN OPERATORS NOT TO BLAME FOR STRATHROY DERAILMENT 10/9/2018 5:48:05 PM
A report on a train derailment that led to 14 cars coming off tracks in Strathroy last year has been released by the Transportation Safety Board (TSB). The board released a report today, saying that there were a handful of factors which led to the derailment, none of which were condemnable, meaning that the operators were not to blame. Strathroy Mayor Joanne Vanderheyden says she's satisifed with the findings, and in the knowledge that the TSB was thorough in its investigation.
Vanderheyden recalls how lucky the town was on July 19th of last year, that no one was injured and no serious damage was done.
Vanderheyden added that council has worked hand-in-hand with CN and the TSB to ensure this is a one-time occurence.
