HOSPITAL RECEIVES MORE HELP FROM AREA COUNCILS

More area Municipalities continue to reach out and lend a hand to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. At an Adelaide Metcalfe Council meeting this week, the Council donated $16,600 to the Hospital Foundation to be used to upgrade the GE Revolution HD CT Scanner at Strathroy Hospital. Computerized Tomography, more commonly referred to as CT enable physicians to take cross-sectional bone, muscle and tissue images that are more accurate and far superior to a general X-ray. Patients will benefit from these improved diagnostic imaging services as physicians can provide more informed treatment decisions for patients, right here in our community. Foundation Board Chair Janet Grantham says they are deeply grateful to the Township for their incredible commitment to local healthcare. She says the Foundation has an eight-year commitment to fund the CT Scanner annual lease payments of $100,000 and they rely solely on the support of the community for the purchase of life-saving equipment, as this is not funded by the Provincial Government.
