HEAT WAVE VERSUS WATER QUALITY 7/6/2018 8:26:56 AM
After this past heat wave, questions about water quality of local beaches and waterways are being asked by the community. The question is can this hot weather lower water quality by raising the amount of bacteria in the water. Jean Albert is a public health manager with the Health Unit and says that the size of the body of water is more of a factor than the heat.
Albert says that when it comes to the beaches in our area, the most recent water tests show that the beaches along the coast are safe to swim in.
